Exploring the Longhorn Cavern

May 17, 2012  •  1 Comment

Last weekend, on Mother's Day, I got the chance to explore the Longhorn Cavern in Burnet, Texas. It was arranged by Tracy Brown as part of one of the Meetup groups I belong to. The experience was exceptional, as we were led by a photographer who works at Longhorn Cavern State Park, and has spent much time in the Cavern.

Part of what made it exceptional was the lighting in the Cavern. It has recently been redone, I'm told, to make it softer and gentler. All I can say is that I loved it. Added to that was the group of people in this tour. There were only six of us, and the energy and excitement was - well - exciting.

This is a selection of the shots I took in the Cavern. If you want to look at them at your leisure, you can view the gallery.

I used to work at Natural Bridge Caverns, Doc, and it is a deep cavern. How did you shoot these? It looks like in some of the shots there was natural Light. I haven't been to Longhorn caverns is it a shallow cavern? Anyway, let me know how you shot it. Thanks
