Do I overshoot?

"Overshoot" doesn't mean "miss the target" in this context. It means "do I take WAY too many pictures?"

Yes, at an event - particularly a wedding - I shoot a LOT. Here's why...

I'm much more of what you'd call a photojournalist-style photographer. I capture things as they happen, in the moment, with real emotions and circumstances. There are lots of other types of photographers. My clients hire me at least partially because of my style.

I love things like this. This sequence tells a story.

If I looked for just the right image, you wouldn't get the joyful exchange between mother (bride) and daughter. Here's another... 8-Up Putting On The Boots-18-Up Putting On The Boots-1

There's another story for you, with bridesmaids - one of whom is the maid of honor and older sister of the bride - putting on the bride's boots. I love the top right image. It makes me wonder (even though I was there) what was going through her head at that moment, and what happened to her foot.

So I'll keep overshooting. When I make albums, sequences like these go in the albums. I'm not a one-image-per-page kinda guy most of the time. Sure, there are the iconic images that deserve their own pages. I don't know if these are in that category or not yet. But they have the feel.
